I needed a project to work on to get me back into the swing of coding and I had always been intrigued with business management systems like QuickBooks and MYOB. I decided to try my hand at writing my own web based one.
Initially this was going to be a part of a larger suite, in that I could bolt on components to a separate OAuth server and have a common login across all my projects, however this went by the wayside and as the ERP system stands now I've stripped out all the OAuth and it works as a standalone solution.
This ERP system was built on top of Laravel, a framework I was introduced to by one of my friends. It is a dream to write code for and allows you to develop very quickly. I've also attempted to write a similar system in Ruby as a bit of an introduction to that language as well.
